Manufacturer: Marsh Models

Autocoast Ti-22 1969
Kit number: MM71

The kit has parts to build the Ti-22 as it was driven by Jackie Oliver on it debut Laguna Seca or at its second race, Riverside by which time it had gained a high wing.
The car only appeared at the end of the 1969 series but it was light and strong and with development might have been able to challenge the McLarens. As its name suggests it made extensive use of Titanium.

This is a typical Marsh kit; resin body and tyres with the remaining parts being either cast white metal or photo etch. Marsh models have made extensive use of photo etch parts in their kits for some years, it is used extensively in the construction of the interior chassis tub and on the wing car the wing is folded from photo etch creating a proper aerofoil section.

The kit built easily without any problems, the pictures show several stages of the construction. The decals were excellent and my only reservation was the thickness of the acetate screen. Many manufacturers now include two screens and this would be a nice addition. One other improvement that could be considered by all manufacturers is extra small photo etch parts and fragile decals. I struggled with one of the tyre wall decals and an extra front and rear on the sheet would have been much appreciated.
